Sep 1-5

We decided that while we are up in New England we need to take advantage of all the great places to go and see. When I was a kid my grandparents had taken me to Bar Harbor, ME and I have always wanted to go back. So after a little bit of researching, we were on the road again, Bar harbor destined. It was a long trip, I think it took us 6 or 7 hours to get there. I had booked us a 5 night stay at KOA campground. They had a woodlands and Oceanside campground across the street from each other, we went with the woodland because of the pool and the price :) It was pricey. I think we paid around $55 a night and that was with our 10% off discount that I got for becoming a KOA member, haha, which cost $25...I thought camping was supposed to be cheap! It was well worth it though. We had a full hook up site right by the pool and playground. There was so much to do. We went to Acadia National Park. We got to go to the top of Cadillac Mtn (the tallest mtn on the east coast) we hiked 3 1/2 miles around Jordan Pond, and got to explore the beauty of this amazing park. We also went to downtown Bar Harbor to the sand bar, which was so cool. In the morning between 9 and noon you can walk all the way across a mile wide sand bar, but by 5 at night it is underwater. The kids searched for sea life, while I snapped away taking pictures that turned out so great! We swam in the pool at the campground and made life long friends with Ruth and barbie ( the campground keepers). Oh yea, I forgot to mention that the kids tye dyed shirts and Anthony got to make his own Swiss Army Knife(so cool)! Overall, it was the BEST camping trip ever. We almost cried when it came time to leave....we even talked about retiring there someday. We made memories that I will hold close forever and I can't wait until we can go back!
